The Olmstead Collection

The Olmstead Collection is a collaborative venture between Kent State Tuscarawas and the Tuscarawas County Historical Society. Located in the Kent State Tuscarawas Library, the Collection consists of over 1,200 volumes, with a major emphasis on 18th and 19th century history as it relates to Tuscarawas County and the Ohio country.

In addition, the Tuscarawas County Historical Society has also collected:

  • 3,000 photographs of the late 19th and early 20th century of Tuscarawas County
  • The Tuscarawas Advocate and The Daily Times from 1844 through 1939
  • Birth and Death Records of Tuscarawas County from 1867-1965
  • Complete Listing of Ohio Soldiers in the Civil War
  • Early Proceedings of the Tuscarawas County Commissioners Meetings from 1808
  • Zeisberger Diaries
  • Over 1,200 events about Tuscarawas County and the United States
  • Files on contemporary and historical people that have had an impact on Tuscarawas County and American history.
