Mechanical Engineering Technology
High-level mechanical engineering technology, incorporating computer-assisted design and manufacturing, is the key to America's future productivity. With an Associate Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology (integrated manufacturing), you'll be prepared to take your place in this constantly changing workplace.
Your coursework will prepare you to work in a team environment of manufacturing using computer-controlled equipment; and it will prepare you for employment in research, testing, drafting, design, maintenance, technical sales and production operations. You will have access to state-of-the-art laboratories for simulation testing and analysis, as well as computer-aided drafting and design systems used in the production of engineering drawings. You will also have the opportunity to study microprocessors, robotics and flexible automation.
The associate degree is granted after the successful completion of 68-71 semester hours of coursework and prepares you for employment by allowing you to concentrate the majority of your studies in technical and related coursework.
Upon graduation, you will be qualified for such entry-level positions as:
- Computer-aided draftsman and designer
- Engineering assistant
- Laboratory technician
- Manufacturing and production positions in standards, materials, testing and numerical control
- Sales or service representative
