Kent State Tuscarawas contributes to the intellectual, social and cultural vitality of the region through several initiatives. The university sponsored Artist/Lecture Series, Voices of Distinction Featured Speaker Series and Institutional Diversity Committee programs provide a valuable service to Kent State Tuscarawas students and to the residents of the Tuscarawas Valley.
Throughout the year, these programs offer enrichment, education and entertainment, including some of the finest speakers and performers from the fields of art, music, theatre and the humanities.Guest lecturers address important and varied topics that include literature, social action, education and diversity.
The Performing Arts Center,which opened in November 2010, enables the campus to add vital depth to academic programming and enhance existing cultural programs.This premiere $17.5 million facility serves as a centerpiece for the performing arts in the Tuscarawas Valley. Supported by state-of-the-industry technology, the center hosts professional performances and presentations, including theatre, concerts, art shows and lectures. The 50,000-square-foot center features a 1,100-seat theatre with balcony and orchestra pit, classrooms and conference space.
