OSBDC Receives AEP GrantPosted Dec. 20, 2013
Kent State Tuscarawas The Ohio Small Business Development Center (OSBDC) at Kent State University at Tuscarawas is the recipient of a $7500 grant from American Electric Power. The grant dollars are earmarked for specialized counseling and training with an emphasis in Carroll County.
"We are extremely grateful to AEP for their very generous contribution," said Steve Schillig, OSBDC Region Director. "The grant will be used to provide specialized counseling to businesses throughout our region but with a concentration in Carroll County. We are fortunate to have a group of counselors that can provide specialized assistance in areas such as accounting, QuickBooks, social media, marketing manufacturing and human resources. Businesses that take advantage of this support will reap the benefits."
In preparation for these new opportunities, Schillig is excited to announce the OSBDC will be holding several workshops in the Carroll County area focused on ensuring that businesses are addressing current needs while preparing successfully for future business, markets and operating environments. The dates of the workshops will be announced in the near future.
"With the emergence of a growing oil and gas industry in Carroll County, we wanted to help local businesses position themselves to take advantage of the opportunities being created in the county," commented Dave Wheeler, AEP's Community Affairs General Affairs.
