KSU Orchestra closes its 2012-13 season with Sunday, April 28 performancePosted Apr. 22, 2013
The Kent State University Hugh A. Glauser School of Music's Orchestra will close its 2012-2013 season with a performance led by Scott MacPherson, director of choral activities, Sun., April 28 at 7:30 p.m. in the University Auditorium at Cartwright Hall.
The KSU Orchestra will be joined by the entire combined KSU choirs, which includes the Chorale, Kent Chorus, and Men's and Women's Choruses.
This performance will include Carl Maria von Weber's "Overture to 'Der Freischütz'" and the dramatic oratorio "King David" by Arthur Honegger. "King David" will feature the following soloists: assistant professor of music Lara Troyer, soprano; Sarah Leuwerke, contralto; and associate professor of music Timothy Culver, tenor.
Tickets for the performance are free for all full-time, Kent Campus undergraduate students and $15 for all other attendees. Tickets are $5 for non-KSU students or students under 18 years old.
Tickets are available weekdays 12 to 5 p.m. at the performing arts box office, located in the lobby of the Roe Green Center in the Music and Speech Building at 1325 Theatre Drive on the campus of Kent State University. The performing arts box office accepts Visa, MasterCard and Discover, in addition to cash and checks.
The Cartwright Hall box office will open one hour prior to the performance for walk up sales, and will also accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover. Tickets and more information are also available by calling 330-672-ARTS (2787) or visiting kent.edu/music.
