Distinguished Teaching Awards NominationsPosted Nov. 13, 2013
Nominations for the annual Distinguished Teaching Awards at Kent State University at Tuscarawas are being accepted until Mon., March 3, 2014. Students, alumni, faculty and administrators may nominate one full-time and one part-time faculty member for the awards.
Initiated 34 years ago by the Tuscarawas County University Foundation, the awards emphasize the importance placed on excellence in instruction at Kent State Tuscarawas. Award winners will receive a plaque and a stipend provided by the Foundation.
For purposes of the award, a "distinguished teacher" is defined as "one who possesses a comprehensive knowledge of the subject matter, organizes and presents the subject matter effectively, stimulates thinking, develops understanding, demonstrates resourcefulness and arouses interest."
Award recipients will be selected from the nominees by a committee of faculty, administrators, students, alumni and Foundation members. The awards will be presented at the annual Spring Awards ceremony on Fri., April 11. Tickets for the awards ceremony are available in advance at Kent State Tuscarawas.
