A&S Requests Proposals for 2013 Research IncentivesPosted Dec. 5, 2012
The Collaborative Research Program supports collaborative research initiatives that will attract extramural funding. Designed to increase extramural funding in the College by increasing the number of collaborative, cross-disciplinary proposals in the College and University, the program provides $8,000 in direct expenses to each member of a team of researchers to write a collaborative proposal to a federal funding agency, foundation, or other funding sources appropriate to the discipline. Funding may be requested for a single year.
The Innovation Research Seed Program encourages the development of lines of research new to the faculty applicant, with emphasis on risky but potentially transformative research projects. The program seeks to stimulate innovative research thinking, high risk & high potential projects—and stimulate excitement in the research community. Projects may be single investigator or team projects and preference will be given to projects that are likely to generate multiple proposals to multiple funding sources appropriate to the discipline. Funding ($8,000 per PI) may be requested for multiple years.
The Research Resources Program supports access to, upgrade, repair, or acquisition of material items necessary for research and scholarship—including access to source materials or acquisition of special collections for research projects (maximum award $8,000). For travel to or acquisition of special collections, priority will be given to those projects that have secured extramural support. Instrument upgrade or repair, or instrument purchase will also be considered. Highest priority will be given to shared or shareable resources.
