Performing Arts Center Community Open House
Posted Nov. 29, 2010Kent State University at Tuscarawas in New Philadelphia is inviting the public to attend a community open house for the new Performing Arts Center on Sun., Dec. 5 from 1 to 4 p.m.
The community is invited to tour the $17.5 million, 50,000-square-foot center that features an 1,100-seat theatre, multipurpose rehearsal room, classrooms, dressing rooms and a versatile two-level lobby that can seat 368 guests for receptions and conferences.
"By participating in this special event, you will have an extraordinary opportunity to tour our beautiful 50,000-square-foot facility, to see firsthand our spectacular theatre, tour the backstage area (which features state-of-the-industry technology), visit our spacious classrooms enhanced with natural light and explore the multifaceted rehearsal room," said Dr. Gregg L. Andrews, Dean and Chief Administrative Officer of Kent State Tuscarawas. "And, of course, when you enter this fabulous center you will first see our versatile three-story lobby designed to serve as a reception area. Along with the upper lobby, this area will be a perfect venue for wedding receptions, conferences and meetings."
The Performing Arts Center's inaugural season began in November and runs through April 2011. It features 23 diverse events, includes nationally touring theatre, dance, musical and comedy performances.
Refreshments will be served and parking is free.
The Performing Arts Center at Kent State Tuscarawas is located at 330 University Drive NE in New Philadelphia.
