JMC Woman Celebrated as ‘Mother, Mentor, Muse’Posted Mar. 11, 2014
Women’s History Month is a time to reflect on and celebrate the great accomplishments and commitments of women who have shaped society and who continue to inspire us.
This month we recognize and celebrate those inspirational women found right here at Kent State and in the School of Journalism.
Dr. Danielle Coombs, assistant professor in JMC, is among this year’s 74 KSU women recognized for making a significant difference in the lives of students or colleagues as part of the annual “Mothers, Mentors and Muses” recognition program sponsored by KSU’s Women’s Center.
Coombs was nominated for helping “birth” the ideas and academic endeavors of others; serving as trusted counselors, colleagues and role models or inspiring creativity and artistic/academic passion in others.
Honorees were recognized at the annual Mothers, Mentors and Muses Scholarship Fundraiser Reception on Tuesday, March 11, at the KSU Student Center. See the full list of 2014 honorees at http://www.kent.edu/womenscenter/events/mothers-mentors-and-muses.cfm.
The Kent State University’s Women Center, a division of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, facilitates the advancement of and to enhance the quality of educational experience and professional life for women students, faculty and staff of all campuses.
