Kent State Tuscarawas Golden Eagles Golf
The Kent State University at Tuscarawas men's golf team is comprised of students enrolled at any of the campuses in the eight-campus Kent State University system for a minimum of seven (7) credit-hours each semester. The Golden Eagles compete in the spring season invitationals hosted by member schools from the Ohio Regional Campus Conference (ORCC), the two-day state tournament sponsored by the ORCC and the Golden Eagle Invitational held at their home course, Oak Shadows Golf Club, located in New Philadelphia, OH.
The year 2014 marks the 10th year of competition for the Golden Eagles who have finished as high as third at the state tournament (2010), won four tournament championships and two runner up trophies over the course of their existence. Kent State Tuscarawas hosted the final day of the ORCC State Tournament at River Greens Golf Course in West Lafayette, Ohio in 2006, has placed in the the top three spots of many tournaments. More recently, the team won the UC Clermont Invitational in 2010, the Golden Eagle Invitational in 2011 & 2012, and was runnerup in the OSU Marion Invitational in 2011.
Team tryouts are held in September each year to trim the roster to 10 golfers. Final cuts are made during a spring break golf trip to South Carolina to determine a six to eight-man roster for the season. We are still looking for a corporate sponsor to assists the team in hosting the Golden Eagle Golf Invitational and sponsors the team's spring break golf trip.
